Spring Qigong Lesson 2
Spring Qigong Series
•
3m 35s
This is part 2 of a 6 part series. In this lesson, you will learn the second movement of the Qigong series.
Instruction
Begin by breathing in while simultaneously circling the arms up. As you circle the arms back towards the Dan Tian, breathe out and allow the body to relax.
Breathe in as you circle the arms. Let the hands meet above your head and then interlace your fingers together. Then, rest your linked hands on the back of your head.
Without letting your hands leave the back of your hand, press your head backwards against your stationary hands to stimulate qi sensation in the upper back and chest. Then, use your elbows and shoulders to press downwards to the floor to enhance the qi sensation. Because we leave the hands stationary on the back of the head, you should feel the upper back and chest expand. Hold this posture for a few moments.
Release the hands from the back of the hand and breathe in. Make sure to relax away any tension that might have occurred from the movement just exercised.
Repeat as many times as desired, and finish by settling the arms into the lap and once again checking to let all tension release from the back and chest.
